Central Arunachal Tribal Festival Villages Tour + Aoling Festival This was our second trip to North East Indias with Yak Travel. We needed permits for some restricted areas and Alan kept us informed of the requirements both before and throughout our journey. Our guide CK was extremely informative and very perceptive of his guests wishes. Because the group was small (5) we were invited in to places where a larger group wouldn't be welcomed. For example, tea was offered and on one occasion a village temple was opened just for us which was quite special. The itinerary was very diverse and included wildlife, culture and architecture with some spectacular scenery thrown in. To be able to participate in the Myoko festival at such close quarters was a privilege. The festivals in the tribal villages are a very important part of their heritage and to be able to witness the celebrations and meet the local characters was a real highlight. The North East is truly a off the beaten track destination as few Europeans visit the area and is very different from most people's idea of India. The 28 day trip was brilliant from start to finish and we wouln't hesitate to recommend this trip.
