The Forgotten Corner of India

Why North-East India?

Sealed from the outside world both to the north and to the east by the magnificent natural barrier of the snow-capped Himalayas, North-East India lies at the crossroads of ancient trade routes which arrive here from the neighbouring lands of Bhutan, Tibet, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Consequently, the region offers a magnificent fusion of diverse cultures unrivalled anywhere else in India and, indeed, perhaps anywhere in the world.

Remote and isolated, this forgotten corner of India receives far fewer visitors than any other. Indeed, in truth, it neither looks nor feels anything like mainstream India. With its huge number of indigenous tribal cultures, traditional Buddhist communities and national parks, it maintains a traditional way of life which remains in close harmony with the beautiful and natural, unspoiled world of sacred forests and wonderful waterfalls which wrap around it. All of this, and so much besides, awaits you.
